Emphasis on Community and Congregational Health Ministries
This emphasis is designed primarily for students interested in the personal and communal dissensions of health and healing, and who wish to address these concerns in and through congregational and community structures. Though not limited to nursing students, this emphasis may be of particular interest to students who are working on a master's in nursing and wish to incorporate faith and spirituality into nursing practice. **
Students will learn the theoretical and practical components of helping individuals and families through times of crisis and suffering by utilizing psychological, spiritual, and various theoretical perspectives. Students will also explore various aspects of social issues relating to vulnerable populations and health disparities and the role of congregation and community structures in addressing these issues. Utilizing the organizational, administrative and leadership resources within a
